Pretzels Bar & Grill

The first Pretzels was started by Gene and Phyllis Devaney in Altamonte Springs in 1987.  Gene and Phyllis were native New Yorkers.  They were astonished that through the years, there were no "neighborhood bars" being built in Orlando.  There seemed only to be that ever growing expansion of corporate chains or touristy bars, none of which were like the bars they left back in New York City.  Bars where you could always find a friendly face, good conversation, a cold drink, and great food.  A place where you could sit among friends and root for your team.  Where you could play pool, darts, or any of the many games that were around.  They felt they had accomplished that with their Altamonte location.

With the help of their daughter, Gene and Phyllis opened this location in 1993.  We want to personally thank you, whether as a first time visitor or as one of our many regulars for your patronage.  It has always been the plan to keep it a family operation, so as to maintain the highest levels of quality.  We will never become corporate.  We will always strive to stay your "Neighborhood Meeting Place."  If there is anything you need, just ask.  Our staff will do anything possible to make your visit extraordinary!
